SSD Design Flow Engineer

The SSD team creates NAND controller design flow for worldwide customers. Our designs are industry-leading in frugality and operational excellence, and are critical to the success of SMI business and the more than multimillion customers who use SMI flash controllers today. Our design flow Engineers solve challenging technology problems, and build architecturally sound, high-quality components to enable SMI design flow to realize critical business strategies.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an innovative self-starter. You will be an SSD/Portable SSD design flow expert with experience in making architectural tradeoffs to optimize SSD performance for a variety of use cases. You will work with engineers across the company as well as external customers and lead design flow development efforts on custom solid-state devices. You will collaborate with internal and external development engineers (architecture, hardware, validation, software services). SMI Engineers are shaping the way people use consumer devices/mobile phones/computers and designing the future of NAND flash controller technology – come help us make history!

What you will do:

You will be a member of a team designing for non-volatile memory devices, including USB/Portable SSDs. You will be a part of the design flow effort from conception, through validation and into production. You will contribute to design flow development and support device characterization and benchmarking efforts. You will work closely with SMI ASIC engineers to tailor devices for customers’ needs.

Job Description:
  • Digital IC designer
  • RTL coding/simulation
  • Familiar with ASIC design flow
  • Familiar with Physical Design EDA tools
 
Requirement:
  • Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering
  • Familiar with verilog
  • Familiar with Design Compiler Graphical/Prime Time/Prime Power/Conformal LEC/DFT/BSD/STA
  • Familiar with 28nm or advanced process
  • Familiar with low power technology
