Silicon Motion recently broke ground on its new Taipei headquarter in Nangang, marking an important step in the company's next phase of growth. The project, developed in partnership with Taiwan Railways, reflects a shared effort to advance urban renewal while strengthening connections between industry and the local community.

The new site will play a key role in shaping a "Taipei-Zhubei dual-city" operational model. By linking the Taipei office with the company's Zhubei headquarter, Silicon Motion aims to enhance collaboration, streamline decision-making, and improve overall R&D efficiency.

Planned as a 23-story office building with five basement levels, the headquarter will incorporate green building, smart building, and seismic design standards, with completion targeted for 2030. The development will also include public-use spaces, with selected floors allocated for the University of Taipei—further integrating corporate and community resources.

With convenient access to the MRT and high-speed rail, the new location is designed to support seamless connectivity between the two hubs, reducing travel time and contributing to more sustainable operations.

As demand for storage continues to grow alongside the rapid expansion of AI-driven applications, Silicon Motion is also investing in talent and long-term capabilities. The Taipei headquarters will serve as a key base to support future business growth and innovation.
